Community Identity Construction and Generation Mechanism of the Converted Cadres in State-Owned Enterprises: Based on the Oral History of 16“Shesao”in Shanghai
TANG Xiaoqi,XU Xuanguo
Abstract:In the 1990s, in the dual reforms of the economic and social system, some state-owned enterprise cadres in Shanghai were transformed into community cadres—“Shesao”. This process of community- based identity conversion and construction realized the replacement of“community”with“unit”and becoming a connected country, working as a new type of organizational channel with individuals. This article discusses the community identity construction and developmentmechanism of the community-transferred cadres from the dual attributes of the community and individual practice. Studies have found that the dual attributes of the community have differentiated shapes for the identity conversion of“Shesao” in different periods. Among them, the political nature has shaped their national identity imagination and identity continuation; the social nature has given a new identity meaning to“Shesao”and reconstructed the relationship between the public and the country, including the“Shesao”. The active community practice of the “Shesao”group has also promoted the performance of its identity functions and the subfit of the community’s dual attributes. At the same time, the community-based identity practice process of state-owned enterprises can be used as a perspective mirror for a transformation of the state and personal relations.
